    • In the hands of someone else, this story, based on an encounter with a real street person, might have touched me. As it happened, I was so distracted by choppy sentences, unbelievable reactions and unrealistic events, I did not enjoy this at all. I only finished it to see what the author did to the characters.Examples:The main character, Greg, single parent of a little girl, "forgot how short a 6-year-old's attention span was." No, not if you truly are the sole caregiver. You LIVE with the short [...]

    • This novella was a very sweet story of second chances and determination. The writing was a little choppy and I think some of the minor plotlines could have been developed a little further to make it more interesting.

    • This was a very cute read with real problems. The characters are warm and believable. Doing something good to people in need can make someone's day. A good message.

    • 2.5* here. Based on a true story, My Christmas Angels turned out to be a feel good (despite the depressive storyline) holiday read. Quick read, the writing was just meh, but I enjoyed the story overall

    • Based on true story about a single father trying to live with a six year old in Vancouver, Canada. The storyline was quite sad and interesting but the writing was not so great.

    • There's nothing quite like spoiling an entire story with a detailed synopsis. Seriously, the entire story is right there; read it and save yourself a few minutes.Other reviewers have addressed the surprising lack of realism when it comes to hospitals. No, you can't sit in during surgery and watch your daughter being operated on. No, you can't just wander into a psychiatric ward and talk to the patients. I volunteered at a hospital; those areas were locked, guarded, and required a passcode for en [...]

    • This is fiction based on a true story. Greg is a single dad struggling to take care of his little girl Angela. He is looking for work, but is not having any luck, applications at fast-food places don't even contact him. He panhandles to try and get money since according to the government he isn't poor enough to get assistance. He arrives home with his daughter to find that he has been evicted from his apartment. Greg had recently reconnected with a former girlfriend. Jessica offered to let them [...]

    • My Christmas Angels is a tragic yet heartwarming Christmas story about Greg, a single father whose daughter falls into a coma. Riddled with grief, Greg stays at his daughter’s side, he comes to terms with the possibility that his daughter may never wake up. He buries his grief in doing good deeds. Uplifted, Greg takes solace in the realization that through great tragedy can come great blessings. My Review - I loved this story and it sucked me right in. I also loved how it was a true story. The [...]

    • A touching story of a single father, out of work and down on his luck, trying to raise his 6-year old daughter on his own with no help from the girl’s absent mother. With no hope of landing a job and not wanting to rely on government assistance, Greg still needs to house and feed his daughter, Angie. Angie slips and falls, causing her great pain and is taken to the hospital where she ends up in a coma. Greg is beside himself with grief, ends up taking a walk through the deserted corridors of t [...]

    • A very heartwarming story based on a real life circumstance.Greg is a single dad of 6 year old Angie, short for Angel. Her mother is a deadbeat mother who is a stripper in Vegas. Greg has no job and he and Angie are about to be thrown out of their apartment. He takes Angie to a shelter for a hot turkey dinner and sees a girl, Jessica that he dated before Angie's mother. She still has feelings for Greg and offers her apartment to them. Greg decides to take her up on it for Angie's sake but Angie h [...]

    • Frankly, while reading a Christmas story, I like to be a little more uplifted. It's a hard enough season without submitting myself to an entirely depressing story. I do get the idea that through all the grief and tragedy this father feels he finds the goodness in his heart to bestow kindness on others. It is just too bad that it takes our own grief to make us realize there are so many others out there in need of a bit of happiness in their lives too. Maybe this book should be used as a good soci [...]

    • A feel good book for the Christmas season. Didn't know it was based on a true story until the end and that was just laniappe. I read mystery, suspense thrillers, some gore, some horror all year long. This book reminded me there's always some way to help others less fortunate than I am.My 17 year old grand daughter always gives to those guys on the side of the road and the bell ringers in front of stores. It's not about what they do with the money, but about what it does for her spiritA very shor [...]

    • This is about a single young guy in his 20's raising his 6 year old daughter on his own. He can't find a full time job, is almost homeless and getting turned down where ever he goes. One day he comes home to find all their stuff outside and the apartment locked. He is now homeless. He runs into an old girlfriend whom he did wrong and lost, she takes them in when the 6 year old gets hurt and winds up in a coma. This is a very moving touching sweet story. Makes you think. Its a quick read.

    • Short story.Homeless father and 6 yo daughter finally move in with the high school friend he ran into unexpectedly.Daughter slips on the ice, needs brain surgery, and the father is again cast adrift. He wanders the hospital one night and meets a young man who, it turns out, is under suicide watch. The father doesn't know that and shares some life advice with the young man.The story ends with the daughter still in a coma and new prospects for the father. Good story of hope.

    • This was like a breath of fresh air for some reason. I am big on Christmas stories and this fit the bill perfectly. I don't even like romance, but the way the story went along, I was very happy. Leaving the ending like that, sorta intrigued me. I thought the story lasted just long enough. Very good Chan!

    • Wow. Sad. Especially around the holidays. Although I know this happens every day in normal life it was really sad to read about it and. Also sad that when I was reading the authors notes that I found out it was a true story. I want to believe that Angie woke up because as a mother you don't want to believe that anything like that could ever happen to your child.

    • This is a short story about a father who is down on his luck and trying to take care of his 6-year-old daughter. If I didn't know it was based on a true person, I would say it's kind of unbelievable, but sometimes life is, I guess. Like other reviewers, I would have liked to know how the true story ended, and not leaving up to the reader to decide.

    • This was not exactly what I was expecting, but overall, still a good, quick read. This story is about single parent Greg and his 6 year old daughter, Angie. It's one of those feel good reads and makes the reader realize there are others out there who have it worse than you do. I liked the fact the story takes place at Christmas.

    • A father and his child close to being evicted for nonpayment of rent find love and caring in his former girlfriend who takes them in. The mother deserted them. A charming little Christmas tale, simply written (free on my Kindle), a short little read. It brought good feelings along with it. Based on an experience in the author's life.

    • This was an excellent short story. It makes you think about what you have and be thankful. The ending could have been done a little differently. I don't like it when the author leaves it to your imagination.

    • This is such a heart-warming story. It really made me think about the hard times homeless and near-homeless people go through. It is a real eye-opener.

    • This story was ok. It is short and I read it in one sitting. The end leaves you thinking then what Other than that it was cute.

    • Not impressed at all. Sorry. Although the author says it was based on a true story, it read more like a soap opera.

    • Great story, left me wanting moreI realize novellas are short but I quickly got so wrapped up in the story I was disappointed when it ended.
