    • I hated this book. I literally hated this book to the point where i couldn't finish it.I realize that it was published in 1990, but submissive woman ideals in this book were ridiculous. A historical author is supposed to weed out things in history that would be unappealing to the readers (such as downplaying how bad the higene was). I loved the heroine. She was strong, and smart, and a leader. But the hero abosolutely disgusted me. I wanted him gone from the book. I couldn't stand him at all.It [...]

    • I love this book and Lord of the Wolves! I makes you wish you could have been a part of such a unique and amazing era.

    • I loved this book! I really wanted to hit the MMC thought, and how women didn't have any rights. Not fair. Wish I could've stuck him in the modern world, he would hate it! MWAHAHAHAHA! But I was glad that they finally admitted their feelings :) I kinda read the first chapter a long time ago, I think, it was familiar, and then I put it away, and then I read it again. I liked it :)

    • Hmmm. An easy, summer read. Not sure how I felt about Rhiannon. I enjoyed the historical context interesting to compare how women were viewed as property, to be used to seal treaties and form alliances. I could feel her contempt but at the same time felt she wasn't true to herself I felt she should have voiced her feelings sooner.

    • One of my favourite historical romance novels EVER! If you love Vikings, a spirited woman and comedy (I know, but it's true) then you'll love this book!

    • This was the first book by Heather Graham that I've read and I really liked her writing style. There were a couple of plot twists that kept you guessing as to wich way the story would go.Rhiannon (h) had no idea that when she saw dragon prows coming ashore that they were there on by invitation of the king, Alfred. Thinking they were under attack, she orders a counter attack.Eric (H) cant believe that they are under attack. He was asked to be here by King Alfred himself. Thinking it was a set up [...]

    • A decent romance novel. Graham manages (at least for the most part) to do what other authors have failed to doke a strong female character actually behave like a strong female character. Again, at least in part. The story is set before the year 1000 so only so much female strength and independence can be expected but even with the restrictions of the setting, her protagonist still manages to be more of a "modern woman" than the protagonists of a good number of both historical and contemporary ro [...]

    • i read number 1 in series golden surrender and loved it so had to get book 2 in series and it was as good as the first im now looking out for book 3 lord of the wolves

    • I probably would have given it a 5 if Rhiannon hadn't bothered me so much. She was one of the most annoying heroines I've ever read.

    • Most enjoyable book I could not put it down.Book 1 was exciting and book 2 exciting too. The characters was interesting. I enjoyed meeting the family and I cannot wait for the next book.

    • Viking and Saxon---traditional enemies. Fortunately, they are both gorgeous and the sex is so good it literally makes her pass out. Very dated.

    • Not sure to be honest what I thought about this book. The first page had me drawn in and I think I was expecting more from it to be honest, having said that I didn't not enjoy it.The story follows the tale of Eric, half viking, half Irish who is born to the earth to do great things. When arriving to help fight along side the King, he is attacked by Rhiannon the Kings Niece. Totally embarrassed by her attack the king grants permission for Eric to marry Rhiannon against her will and when she is al [...]

    • "Viking Bastard!""Obey me! Do what I say or else."And so it went for the first half of the book between Eric and Rhiannon. Rhiannon is mistress of her own castle/lands when she and her people see Viking ships on the horizon. Oh no! They attack! What they don't know is that Eric, our Irish Viking has come on behalf of the King to help. He feels betrayed and they of course crush Rhiannon's assault. Later, because of this betrayal and the King's wish to have Eric's help, he and Rhiannon are married [...]
